Mobiliti suite includes synchronization over internet / backup over internet features

For a remote user, availability of Internet connection is not a sufficient condition to be able to synchronize to the office network. To prevent unwanted access, the office administration may have a firewall in place. This would prevent any access to the file servers located inside the firewall.

In the other scenario, the office servers have an internal IP address. This internal address does not have a meaning for the remote user who is in a different network.

Is there any possibility for these remote users to be able to synchronize over internet directly to the office network? With Mobiliti, the answer is YES. An associate product "Mobiliti synchronization server" needs to be installed in the gateway to the office network. If this gateway server is accessible over Internet, synchronization over internet becomes very easy. The synchronization server can make all the procedure calls to the file servers on behalf of an authenticated remote client and send the results back to this client. This implies that even if the file server has a local IP address or its access is restricted for rest of the activities, authenticated users can easily synchronize over internet.
