Backup manual is also available
1) Setup Network/Unplugged Synchronization Server (Only for Client Server Mode)Outlook backup feature is available in client only version of the product also. This option is needed only if you are doing pst backup in the client server mode of the program.
To install the Network/Unplugged Synchronization server run the synchronization server setup executable and follow the directions given in the setup. You can use the default settings in most of the cases.
Please note that it is important to install Network/Unplugged synchronization server in the same network as the backup destination file server (preferably the same server for optimum performance). More details on configuration can be read at <ftp://ftp.mobiliti.com/pub/docs/40/BestPracticesGuide40.pdf>.
2) Setup Backup Process
More details on Network/Unplugged synchronization server installation and usage can be found at <ftp://ftp.mobiliti.com/pub/docs/40/ServerUserGuide40.pdf>.
Unlike other Network/Unplugged Projects, Backup Projects are used solely for backing up the changes made on the LOCAL machine to any other LOCAL or NETWORK destination.
A Project can be created either by using the New Backup Project Wizard icon on the toolbar or by selecting New Backup Project Wizard option from the File menu.
Step 1: Specify Project Name
Launch the Backup Project Wizard and enter a name and description (optional) for the Project.
Step 2: Define Project Properties and specify
destination
Click the 'Add' button and either type in the destination or use the 'Browse' button to select the location where you want to backup your LOCAL files. You can either change the other properties or leave them as default.
Step 3: Add File Selector
Click on the 'Add Selectors' button and choose the files from the LOCAL machine that you want to backup. This would be the folder where your local pst files reside. You can select the whole folder to be backed up or the individual pst file to be backed up.
Step
4: Synchronize the Project
At the last stage of project setup, you are prompted to either synchronize the project now or at a later time. Please choose not to synchronize as we need ensure certain settings.

For Client server mode:
If you have client only mode, please go to step 4 directly.
Following settings should be in place when the client-server mode of Network/Unplugged is being used to backup these mail files. We need to bind this client to use a given Network/Unplugged synchronization server. Following steps do that.
-
Go to the Synchronization preferences under the 'File' menu of Network/Unplugged.
-
Click on the 'Delta Sync' tab
-
Highlight "default" synchronization server entry in the "File Server" column
and select the "Update" button.
-
Enter the name of the server as the client will see. It can be either a simple
name like "MySyncServer", a full name like "MySyncServer.mobiliti.com", a local
address like 192.168.0.10 or an external address. Click OK.
Also, different synchronization servers can be assigned for different file servers if there is more than 1 file server. To do this, click on the 'Add' button and follow the directions.
4)
Do a full data transfer with Mail client closed
Please make sure that mail client is closed. Do a
synchronization by selecting the synchronization tool bar or menu item. The
first synchronization is always a full copy.
Subsequent synchronization will be incremental and can happen even
for open files also.
