It is quite true that Outlook Backup and Synchronization is a very important issue today. Microsoft Outlook is the most popular email client. It generally stores the mails in a PST file in the local user machine. It can easily grow to the size 500 MB or more making the task of outlook backup very challenging.
A significant portion of corporate users keep mails locally, raising the issue of outlook backup. Irrespective of the Email client that is used, these locally stored individual mailboxes are the lifelines of the organization. In due course of time, these mailboxes grow to be the
biggest files on the user machine. From the criticality standpoint, it should be the mailbox file that should have the highest priority to be backed up. It is extremely difficult if not impossible to back up this file, primarily due to its size. Not any more - Mobiliti products via their unique open file Write Monitor and Mail Harmony differencing makes this possible in a fraction of the time it would have otherwise taken after the first complete closed backing up.
While enhancing speed of pst backup even over fast connections, Mobiliti
solution is the only solution to speed up the process over slower links such as
RAS, WAN, etc.
How to do backup of pst files?
A backup project is to be created specifying the local file as the source (for which backup is to be done) and the destination location. Make sure that pst file (source file) is configured to use write monitor differencing method. By default, write monitoring method is enabled for mailbox files. Please note that the first time, pst is to be a full and closed backup. Subsequent ones will be incremental and can be done even when this file is open.
